Alfagrog is an ideal biological filter media with a huge surface area and an excellent porous structure. Providing the perfect conditions for beneficial bacteria such as Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter to multiply in, the15kg bag of Alfagrog can effectively increase biological filter performance and increase rates of ammonia and nitrite decomposition for improved water conditions all round.

Alfagrog contains no harmful substances that adversely affect the health of fish or plants and so is completely safe to use in your pond water. In normal stocked densities of pond water, 1 litre of Alfagrog (approx 500gm) is sufficient to purify 1,000 litres of pond water - for those of higher stocked ponds, 2 litres per 1000 litres should be used. It can be used  in Orb aquariums and Sump systems, Pond filter systems or any other larger filter system.
