| Rowaphos Sponge 130mm Diameter

Rowaphos Sponge
Large Round
Feed Your Fish and Not Your Algae
The ultimate filter media for removal of phosphate and dissolved organic compounds from freshwater & saltwater aquariums.
RowaPhos is guaranteed to remove more phosphate than any other product worldwide. Now available with RowaCarbon on a simple impregnated sponge.
Large Round Sponge Pack
This unique impregnated sponge combines the proven performance of both RowaPhos and RowaCarbon in a single product that is both effective and easy to use.
Use for phosphate control: In freshwater or salt water aquariums phosphates will feed nuisance algae which if left unchecked will often overrun plants and expensive corals spoiling the aesthetics of the tank and in extreme cases killing its inhabitants.
Use for control of dissolved organics: The activated carbon element will act as a chemical filter to remove dissolved organic compounds that would otherwise cause yellowing and poison the system. The beauty of Rowaphos Sponge is that unlike 90% of carbons on the market it will not add phosphates to the water.

Recommendation for Use
Exchange the existing sponge media in your canister filter with Rowaphos Sponge or place in a high flow area of the aquarium (do not wash before use). For custom boxes simply cut to size. After 1 week check the phosphate level within your aquarium with a reliable test kit. Continue to monitor the water and change the Rowaphos Sponge as required
For aquariums with high phosphate levels over 1 ppm we recommend that you first use standard Rowaphos media to bring the level down close to zero and then use the Rowasponge as a maintenance product to control any further phosphates produced.
Once the phosphate levels are under control, the filter can stay in the system for several weeks but note that under these circumstances the sponge will act as a biological filter and therefore great care should be taken not to exchange too high a volume of sponge at one time unless there is additional biological media present.
