NT Labs Koi Care Malachite Green 500ml

An effective treatment for external parasite and fungus infections. When used together with formaldehyde it's activity is enhanced which means that less malachite can be used. High dose or frequently repeating dosing can damage the gills of the fish. If the required effect has not been achieved after two treatments, take further advice to establish the real cause of the problem.
External parasites such as whitespot, Trichodina, Costia, Chilodonella and Epistylis are frequent troublemakers in the fishpond. They live in the mucous layer of the fish and cause intense irritation as they graze on the skin cells. Infection can be recognised as the fish secrete excess mucus, thus giving them a grey slimy appearance. In white spot infection, as the name suggests, the parastite forms small white spots that resemble table salt crystals over the surface of the fish.
All these parasites cause intense irritation to the fish causing them to scratch against sedentary objects in the pond, flick and thrash around and even jump out of the water, as they attempt to scratch the irritation.

If possible always try and confirm the infection by a microscopic diagnosis.
